Mechanical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical Engineering (MB) was established in 1982 as the ‘Institute for Manufacturing Technology’ and has since become a nationally and internationally renowned research institution and preferred partner for businesses interested in technology and knowledge transfer. The Department comprises nine chairs and around 400 members of staff, and it is responsible for the teaching of the largest degree programme at the Faculty of Engineering, ‘Mechanical Engineering’.
