Humanoid Robotics – Current Developments and Industrial Perspectives

Date: 15th September 2026Time: 5:00 pm – 6:30 pmLocation: FAU Campus Erlangen Süd, Hörsaal H15, Cauerstraße 7/9 in Erlangen

Sprecher: Rodrigo J. Velasco-Guillen, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg & Julius Bockamp, Schaeffler Deutschland Humanoid robots are attracting increasing attention in both research and industry. Advances in artificial intelligence and mechatronic systems are enabling new forms of robotic mobility and interaction in environments designed for humans. Humanoid robotics raises new questions regarding perception, physical interaction, and the integration of robotic platforms into real-world environments. The talk will provide insights into current developments, technical challenges, and future perspectives of humanoid robotic systems. In collaboration with Schaeffler, industrial perspectives and potential applications of humanoid robots in industrial production and humancentered environments will also be presented. The lecture will take place as part of the EEI Colloquium during the 2026/2027 winter semester. Attendance is free of charge; registration is not required.
