Office of Student Information and Advice (StIB)
The Faculty of Engineering has its own Office of Student Information and Advice (StIB). This combines the various services offered by the faculty administration with regard to student support, international matters, measures to recruit school pupils as future students, public relations and alumni. The central point of contact is the Service Desk, which can be found in the foyer of the building that houses the canteen and auditorium. From Mondays to Fridays, the Service Desk offers general advice on all Aspects of studying without the need to make a prior appointment. A quiet consultation room is available if you require a more detailed advice session. For specific issues, the Service Desk can put you in contact with the relevant specialist units within the university, such as the Examination Office, Student Records Office and subject advisors.
The office works very closely with ATE, the alumni club of the Faculty of Engineering. This skills and career network forms an ideal communication platform for forming contacts between students, graduates, alumni, researchers and partners in industry. We would like to invite all our students to join ATE (membership is free) while still studying here. Information on the services provided by ATE can be found on its website (German) and in the information folder (German).
