Professor Aldo R. Boccaccini, Head of the Chair of Materials Science (Biomaterials) at FAU, was awarded the Doctor Honoris Causa by Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (UNCuyo) in his hometown of San Rafael, Mendoza, Argentina.
The ceremony took place on March 18, 2026, at the Faculty of Applied Sciences for Industry (Facultad de Ciencias Aplicadas a la Industria, FCAI).
Professor Boccaccini was honored for his outstanding academic achievements and pioneering contributions to the fields of Materials Science and Engineering, particularly in biomaterials, and his continuous support of the development of academic activities at FCAI were recognised. The event marked a historic milestone, as this was the first time a Doctor Honoris Causa degree has been conferred in the city of San Rafael.
