Creating your time table

You can use the University’s information system UnivIS to create a personal timetable as follows:

  • Select Course list on the UnivIS start page.
  • Select your degree programme.
  • Select your semester from the pull down menu on the top right.
  • Click on Course directory to show a list of all the courses for your degree programme.
  • Select a category (start of study winter semester/summer semester, compulsory subjects, branch of study, etc.).
  • Enter the number of the semester to see the courses available. Compulsory courses are marked with the abbreviation PF in the third column, compulsory elective modules (compulsory module choice within a specific range of modules) with WPF and electives (optional modules from a department, faculty or the entire University) are marked with WF.
  • Selecting courses: You can select courses (for example only compulsory subjects, specific courses, or exercises) by clicking on the selection box at the start of the row and clicking on ‘Auswahl zur Sammlung hinzufügen’ to save your selection.
  • Click on Collection/class schedule on the top navigation bar to show your saved courses. You can use this list to select courses from several categories (from specialisations, compulsory elective subjects and modules from other degree programmes) by accessing each of the categories and clicking on ‘Auswahl zur Sammlung hinzufügen’ to add the course. Once you have finished, you can view the final list. When changing between categories, do not use the back button on your browser – use the navigation tree beneath the header.
  • Click on class schedule on the left to generate the timetable and click PDF landscape to create a landscape PDF file for printing. To incorporate your timetable into your electronic calendar, you can select the option ‘Ausgabe als iCal’ from the navigation bar on the left.

  • Select Course list  on the UnivIS start page.
  • Select your degree programme.
  • Select your semester from the pull down menu on the top right.
  • Select Module directory.
  • Select the examination regulations for your degree programme.
  • Select the branch of study/module group.
  • Select the modules and click ‘Auswahl zur Modulbelegung hinzufügen’.
  • Click Module collection on the bar at the top of the page.
  • Select the courses and click ‘Auswahl zur Modulbelegung hinzufügen’.
  • Click Collection/class schedule at the top of the page.
  • Click on class schedule on the left to generate the timetable and then PDF landscape to print. To incorporate your timetable into your electronic calendar, you can select the option ‘Ausgabe als iCal’ from the navigation bar on the left.

Kindly note:

  • Although the data in UnivIS is checked carefully, we ask that you compare the list of courses and modules with the modules listed in the degree programme and examination regulations (in German only) for your subject and start date.
  • Schedules for the following semester are always finalised by the end of the lecture period, and at this point the warning ‘Achtung: In diesem Semester angezeigte Daten sind vorläufig’ (Caution: the data shown for this semester is for planning purposes only) is removed.
  • It is advisable to check the course details again before the start of the lecture period in case of any last minute changes.
