Designing diversity-friendly seminars and exercises
Date: 15th May 2024Time: 9:00 am – 10:00 amLocation: Zoom
In a seminar room, students from different regions, nationalities and genders sit together with the same learning objectives but very different learning styles and starting points. What do I do as a teacher when students process knowledge at different speeds? How do I take into account different language skills? What didactic options do I have to deal with different learning preferences? The workshop discusses the need for more flexible didactics in the classroom and in everyday university life, and presents different methodological options for achieving this. In addition to input from the lecturer, the programme will include peer-to-peer exchange and individual transfer to your own teaching.
Specific content:
- Recognising the heterogeneity of the student body
- Managing diversity in the classroom
For participating in this course, you will receive 1 AE in area A (Teaching and Learning Concepts) for the Certificate for Teaching in Higher Education of the Bavarian Universities.
