7. November 2018 – International Day of the Faculty of Engineering and the Fuculty of Sciences
More and more students are moving abroad for some time during their studies. But where does the money for tuition fees and living abroad come from? Which language tests are necessary? How does the recognition of academic achievements and foreign diplomas work? Which internship makes sense? In order to help clarify these and other questions, the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Sciences jointly organise an “International Day” once a year.
Together, the two faculties offer a comprehensive information programme on the subject of international mobility: on the “International Day” you will get to know a variety of opportunities to deepen your studies abroad, to gain practical language and professional knowledge, in short: you will develop intercultural competence that is needed more than ever on the job market.
International Day 2018 took place in the best autumn weather on 7 November in the winter garden foyer of the Physikum/Biologikum, Staudtstraße 5 in Erlangen. The event was very well attended by students from both faculties, who were able to obtain information from twelve external organisations, the FAU Office for international Affairs, representatives of their faculties and student organisations. The students also took advantage of the opportunity to get first-hand information from fellow students who shared their experiences from their own study-related stays abroad.
With up to 100 participants per event, the varied lecture programme particularly caught the students interest. TF departments also offered their own lectures on the subject of stays abroad as part of ERASMUS. Special thanks go to the student representatives of both faculties, who provided the visitors with fresh waffles and mulled wine.
